A
shear conveyor installed at the back of a shear will move the blanks out
from behind the shear at waist high elevation and support the material
which is being sheared to the back gauge. This eliminates the need for
an operator to be behind the shear which is a safety hazard. The shear
conveyor also improves ergonomics by eliminating
the need for an operator to be constantly bending down to clear blanks
or scrap. A stacker combined with a conveyor also improves safety, as
the operator no longer is required to manually stack blanks and work near
the shear.
|
A
shear conveyor supports material behind the shear up to the back gauge
which greatly improves length tolerance. Also, the blank is raised above
the fixed blade reducing scratching on the bottom surface. A special scratch
free conveyor using a special "humpback" conveyor belt is available when
coupled with a CNC shear feeder to give scratch free blanks on both sides.
|
Shear conveyors can increase a Steel Service Center's shearing productivity
up to 50%. A conveyor and stacker at the back of any shear will not require
an operator at the back of the shear to catch blanks or provide sheet
support. A stacker will let the next run start quickly by making the pallets
easy to remove and clear to begin shearing the next parts.
