Loading
sheets into a shear, CNC turret punch, laser or other fabricating machine
inherently requires lifting by an operator. Sheets weighing up to 150
lbs. are often handled by one man with several devices used so that the
sheet could be slid onto the machine, resulting in pinched fingers and
cut hands. Heavier sheets are usually handled by two men with the aid
of an overhead or jib crane.
The Canrack/PMI Sheet Handler allows one person to lift sheets weighing up to 800 lbs. and safely move them into position with no hand contact to the sheet. Back strain and cut or pinched fingers are eliminated and any employee, independent of size and strength, can easily perform the handling task. Work stations are designed to ergonomically recommended standards. |
The
Canrack/PMI Sheet Handler eliminates the need to slide sheets and uses
a special "peel" function to separate sheets that stick to give scratch-free
handling.
Paper interleaved or vinyl-coated sheets can be handled and movement is easily controlled to give gentle handling from the stack onto the machine bed. |
Conversion
to one person handling and the ability to pick and place sheets at the
rate of 2 per minute speeds up machine operation.
Increased production is achieved through reduced waiting time during sheet loading and unloading. CNC controlled machines can be fed immediately as picked sheets can be moved into a load position hovering over the sheet grippers while the machine is processing the previous sheet. |
